In partnership with NC State Athletics, the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity invites you to nominate a notable NC State community member for recognition at the Black History Month Celebrations at Mens’ and Womens’ Basketball games in February.

We seek to recognize everyday heroes that make a difference in the lives of NC State faculty, staff and students through their personal qualities and efforts.

If you are reading this and someone comes to mind, please complete our short nomination form by Friday, Jan. 17. We need your input.

Who Should You Nominate?

Nominate a faculty member, staff member, student, volunteer or local community member whose contributions have enriched an NC State program, initiative or effort on campus or beyond. In particular, we seek to honor individuals who have supported and/or enhanced NC State’s Black community. We want to uplift those who uplift us.

A “Legend” could be someone who has provided dedicated service for a sustained period of time. A “Luminary” could be someone who has gone above and beyond for a shorter time but in a significant way. We welcome either type of nomination.
