Spring 2025 Information Sessions
If you are interested in joining the Spring 2025 cohort, we highly encourage that you attend an informational session. We will be having informational sessions on the following dates and times:
- Monday 13th January, 2025 (12pm -12:30pm)
- Tuesday 14th January, 2025 (12pm – 12:30pm)
- Wednesday 15th January, 2025 (12pm – 12:30pm)
- Thursday 16th January, 2025 (12pm – 12:30pm)
- Friday 17th January, 2025 (12pm – 12:30pm)
Spring 2025 Workshop Dates & Information
The workshops will be conducted in person and will be held in the MSA Suite (Talley Student Union 4261) from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm.
Below are the following dates and times for the workshops:
- Workshop 1: January 29th, 2025
- Workshop 2: February 12th, 2025
- Workshop 3: March 5th, 2025
- Workshop 4: March 26th, 2025
- Medallion Ceremony: April 14th, 2025
- The medallion and recognition event will be held on Monday 14th April, 2025 from 6pm in the SANKOFA Room in Witherspoon Student Center (Room 126).
Applications for the Spring 2025 cohort will open January 6th, 2025.

What is the Multicultural Leadership Challenge?
The Multicultural Leadership Challenge (MLC) is a cohort based experience that focuses on providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become more culturally aware leaders. There are 4 workshops for students to participate in, each workshop is followed by a reflection paper, students have to engage in 5 hours of professional development of their choosing and complete 10 hours of community service. There will be a ceremony at the culmination of the experience where students display their journey towards becoming culturally aware leaders. Students will also be presented with a token of completion. The Multicultural Leadership Challenge and all MSA-sponsored/supported programs and initiatives are open to all students from all backgrounds.
Requirements for the Multicultural Leadership Challenge
- Complete all 4 workshops
- Complete reflection paper after each workshop
- Complete and log 5 hours of professional development. This can be academic or professional based.
- Complete and log 10 hours of community service.

Workshop Descriptions
- What is Multicultural Leadership?
- Students will learn about the Multicultural Leadership Challenge, what the requirements of the challenge are and receive an overview of the Culturally Relevant Learning Leadership (CRLL) Model. The culturally relevant leadership learning model emphasizes understanding and integrating all cultural perspectives and practices to foster expansive and effective leadership within multicultural environments.
- Values & Ethics in Multicultural Leadership
- Students will learn how to reflect on their own values and how it informs the way they lead and see leadership. Students will also engage in discussions about what makes one an ethical leader and the importance of ethics in leadership and decision making.

- Who Am I As A Leader?
- Students will understand how their lived experiences and engagements can influence and impact their style of leadership.

- Students will discover how to define a clear vision and set actionable goals to drive their leadership success in multicultural environments.
